The Bun: A Tale from Russia by Marcia Brown

This book was read for the Celebrate the Author Challenge.

Since I’d read Stone Soup before I wanted to try another book by Marcia Brown so I grabbed up The Bun and brought it home from the library. Little did I know I’d essentially read this story before too, as have I’m sure most of you.

The Bun is (I’m guessing) the original version of The Gingerbread Man. It’s the same story except it’s a bun that is made and then rolls off and escapes various animals until it gets to a clever fox who outsmarts the bun. I don’t know which version I like better, the Bun or the Gingerbread Man.
