Summary: Do Christians, Jews, and Muslims all pray to the same God? Is it okay to be mad at God? Did Adam have a belly button? We all have questions, even if we don’t know how to find answers. Over the last 30 years, Today in the Word from the Moody Bible Institute has taken questions from people all around the world and published a few of them each month with answers from reliable Bible experts. Do Angels Really Have Wings? is a collection of the most repeated, most intriguing questions (with a few lighthearted ones too). These questions are then answered by trusted Christian voices like Don Cole, Mike Kellogg, and Rosalie de Rosset. Whether you’re curious about Christianity or have been in the church since you were in diapers, this book is a great place to start exploring some of your own questions about God, life, and the Bible.

Do Angels Really Have Wings?

As a new believer I have a lot of questions and I love learning about Christianity. It’s been 4 years but I still have so much more to learn. Even someone who grew up Christian is always supposed to be studying the Bible but it’s also good to study other books and learn from those who have studied the Bible.

This book is a good light read for when you want to learn but you don’t have the time for indepth study materials. It included a few questions from kids (Did Adam have a belly button) but also lots of more serious questions. The answers are grouped together into three sections:

Part One – Questions about God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit

Part Two – Questions about life and living it biblically

Part Three – Questions about the Bible, who’s in it and what it says

Sampling of Questions:

  • I am puzzled by the idea that at Communion we eat Jesus’ body and drink His blood. How can that be true?
  • Do Christians, Jews, and Muslims all pray to the same God? The pope said we do and in my conversations I find that people seem puzzled and divided on the issue.
  • If I understand and embrace the doctrine of election, does it stop me from praying for unsaved people?
  • Is it okay for Christians to give their bodies to the needs of science?
  • Candidates for political office make so many conflicting promises, it’s hard to know what to believe. What are we as Christians to do?
  • My parents object to my dating a non-Christian. They say it is wrong. But he is a very good man, and if no Christian girl dates him, how will he hear the Word and be saved?
  • Is it okay for Christians to go on strike?
  • What do you think about the claims of some that Noah’s ark has been discovered?
  • Does the Bible teach the existence of guardian angels?
  • Why is the book of Revelation so hard to understand? Is there help anywhere?
  • If David was a man after God’s own heart, how do we explain his behavior in 2 Samuel 11 and 12?
  • Where did Cain get his wife?

The book is a perfect bathroom book as you can read it in little spurts. Some of the questions seemed a little silly to me but they are real questions from real people.
