Craved is a good introduction to marketing/branding for those who are building a brand for their start up company as well as for professional bloggers, aspiring influencers, content creators, creative directors and other small business owners. This is who the book was designed for and it ends up being a good intro book for those exact people.

The book’s section outline the process one takes to build a brand including Part 1 – Getting Your Mind Right, Part 2 – Set the Stage for Success, Part 3 – The Key Ingredients in the Secret-Sauce and Part 4 – Build Your Community.

I’ve read other books on marketing and branding and for a time experimented with what I’ve read. I eventually decided full on professional blogging wasn’t for me but I recognize the information contained in this book matches everything else I’ve read and is good advice.

In this book you will learn what branding and marketing are, how the consumer thinks and acts in today’s age, how you can figure out your identity as a person and a business and how to think ahead when planning for your business. You will learn to use storytelling, content marketing, social media, videos and email marketing to get yourself out there. Finally you will learn how to consider competition in relation to yourself and how to nurture your community so your brand grows.

There is a short section at the back where you can fill in your thoughts on what you’ve learned to help get a hold of where you are heading. If you want something more in-depth or already know the basics, you might want something a little heavier. If you are new to marketing or branding though, it’s a good intro.
