History is Rich
In this Honest History book we are introduced to the American economy. Now I’m Canadian so not all of this is exactly correct for me but the basic idea is the same. The book is 5 stars because it’s well made but I’d recommend it to American readers.
Honest History books are colourful, engaging and very interesting. While designed for ages 8-14 I had fun reading it and would love to get my hands on their other two books I haven’t read History is Worn (Fashion) and History is Delicious (Food.)
So what does this one cover? It covers: capitalism, American economy beginnings, founding fathers, slavery, Industrial Revolution, money and banking, railroads, Great Depression, rebuilding, rise of tech and enduring debates.
I think these topics (and economics and finances in general) are something a lot of adults don’t fully understand either. Whether you homeschool like me or just want to supplement your child’s education with anything you thing needs to be covered more, or your child is just interested in economics, this book would be great.
Make sure you check out their magazines too.
