The Duck Commander Family
I was introduced to Duck Dynasty through my husband and at first I wasn’t interested because of the hunting which is not my thing. However the more I watched the more I loved the family dynamic and learning about those who live in the south which is different from me.
I started to want to know more about the family and eventually I found this book in a used book sale and grabbed it up. I loved this book.
So it alternates between Willie and Korie Robertson’s point of view which is nice. The font changes between them AND when Korie is talking it says her name. So you always know who is talking. It bugs me when books don’t make it obvious a different person is talking. This book doesn’t do that.
At the end of each chapter is a southern recipe which is neat. There are definitely some I will never be making (like squirrel or shrimp) but there are a few I want to try for sure, or some I want to try with my own twist.
I found the whole book interesting. There is lots of back story but also talk about things you see on the show and details of funny stories and how things work in their household. It’s a peak into a Southern Christian Family.
